Rutgers' largest campus is located in central New Jersey, approximately 33 miles from New York City and 60 miles from Philadelphia. Frequent express bus and train service to Manhattan, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. provide students easy access to libraries, theaters, concert halls, museums, galleries, and research institutes. The Newark campus is one of five centers of higher education in New Jersey's largest city, which is situated across the Hudson river from New York. The Camden campus takes advantage of the metro Philadelphia region to provide a stimulating environment for its graduate and professional schools.
